Leigh understands that appropriate reforms must be made to ensure the future of the nation’s flood insurance program. That’s why she supports reforms that would strengthen the NFIP and provide for a long-term reauthorization of the program.
Increasing the Capital Gains Exclusion
Leigh supports the More Homes on the Market Act which would double the current capital gains exclusion for homeowners when selling their principal residence and index it to future inflation. Without the fear of a massive tax liability, more long-time homeowners will be incentivized to sell their homes and help alleviate the inventory shortage.
Defending the 30-Year Mortgage
Leigh stands with REALTORS® in supporting responsible reform of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to ensure that the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage will be available to qualified homebuyers in all markets.
